The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, in spring

This is the unglamorous post. The program covers the interesting parts of being here; what it does not cover is the week of administrative setup that makes those parts possible.

The list, for whoever comes next

Get the student museum pass in person during the first week, before term properly starts and the queue becomes an afternoon. Buy a bike lock that costs more than you think a bike lock should cost. Set up the transit app before you need it at a turnstile.

Every hour spent on logistics in week one buys back three in week six.

None of this is hard. All of it is easier to do deliberately than at the moment you discover you needed it.
